  • January to April
    January marks the beginning of summers in Mauritius and the crowd starts to reduce. The maximum temperature during summer goes up to 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum stays at 26 degrees Celsius. Summers in Mauritius are the best time to travel around the island and its beaches and other spots minus the tourist crowd.   1. Mauritius Botanical Garden
    Mauritius Botanical Garden, also known as SSR Botanical Garden and Pamplemousses Garden, is one of the most popular tourist spot in Mauritius, and is situated near Port Louis. It is the oldest garden of Mauritius situated in the Southern Hemisphere.. this amazing garden was built by Pierre Poivre in 1767, and spreads over an area of about 37 hectares. Mauritius Botanical Garden is popular for its huge water lilies, spice garden and unique collection of 85 sort of palms from Asia, Central America, Africa and the islands around the Indian Ocean.
     
  2. Port Louis
    Port Louis is the main port and capital city of Mauritius, Today Port Louis is the major city of Mauritius. Port Louis is enclosed by a mountain range, called the Port Louis Moka Range which gives amazing view of Port Louis. Important tourist spots in Port Louis are Port Louis Bazaar, Caudan Waterfront, Old Port Louis Theatre, Police Barracks, and the Mauritian Chinatown. Port Louis has also 3 museums: Mauritius Natural History Museum, Mauritius Stamp Museum, and Blue Penny Museum. At the city center there are number of French styled buildings, which add to the charm of Port Louis.
     
  3. Black River Gorges National Park
    Black River Gorges National Park is situated in the hilly south-western part of Mauritius. It is one of the popular touism site of Mauritius. One can walk along the greenery and arrive at the peak of the island, which is the Black River Peak. Facilities available for tourists include picnic areas, information centres, and long trail. The Black River Gorges park protects most of the remaining rainforest of island, and is dwelling to different species of birds and animals.     Île aux Cerfs Island (Deer Island) is an island which is situated near the East Coast of Mauritius within the Flacq district. Ile Aux Cerfs is well-known for its sandy beaches, beautiful lagoon, and various facilities and activities. In Ile Aux Cerfs you are sure to have a day of leisure and fun on one of the picture-postcard beaches, you can enjoy snorkeling and swim in the lagoon.   5. Trou aux Cerfs 
    Trou aux Cerfs is a 604 m elevated extinct volcano situated in Curepipe, Mauritius. Trou aux Cerfs is believed to be the prominent tourism spot of Curepipe. There is a beautiful lake within the centre of the crater. Crater gives a beautiful view of major part of Mauritius Island. 
     
  6. Chamarel Park - 7 Colored Earth & Chamarel Falls
    Chamarel park - 7 colored earth & Chamarel falls - The “seven-coloured earth” of Chamarel is the main tourist spot of Mauritius. The landscape at Chamarel is very exceptional, it is the only place in world where clay earth of 7 colors is found at one place. The landscape at Chamarel is extremely exceptional, where clay earth of seven colors is found at one place. The colors of these unique dunes are yellow, red, blue, brown, green, purple and violet. Chamarel Park gives an amazing view of the lush vegetation. Another prominent attraction of Chamarel is the Waterfall of Chamarel. It is a very beautiful waterfall, believed to be the best waterfalls in Mauritius.
     
  7. Grand Bassin
    Grand Bassin also known as Ganga Talao (situated around 600 meters above sea level), is a lake located in a quiet mountain region in the Savanne district, deep in the heart of Mauritius. Grand Bassin is a sacred lake in Mauritian of Hindu faith. it's believed that the water inside the lake communicates with the waters of the holy Ganges of India. The Hindus of Mauritius declared the Grand Bassin as a sacred lake.The Hindu community performs a pilgrimage every year on the night of Maha Sivaratri”, on this day they honor the Lord Siva. Nearby the lake there is a shrine devoted to Lord Shiva and other Gods including Hanuman Ji and Lakshmi Ji. Also, overlooking the lake is the statuette of Mangal Mahadev (Shiva statue) which is of 33 meters, making it the main statue in Mauritius.

International flights to Mauritius land at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, which is around 51 kms from the capital city of Port Louis.     There are only 2 airports in Mauritius – Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport and Sir Gaëtan Duval Airport located on Rodrigues in Plaine Corail. Swiss, Emirates, Air India, China Eastern flights, etc. are some of the main international airlines with connectivity to these airports.
