Jharkhand is a state which is situated in east India. Jharkhand splits its boundary with the regions of West Bengal to the east, Chhattisgarh to the west, Uttar Pradesh to the northwest, Odisha to the south and Bihar to the north. Main Religions of the states are - Christianity, Sarnaism, Islam, and Hinduism. Ranchi is the capital and Dumka is the sub capital of Jharkhand.

CUISINE OF JHARKHAND
Jharkhandi's have a food in which spices are seldom used and rice is the staple diet. They prepare several dishes of rice, different kinds of Rotis, Pani puri (Gupchup), Dudhauri, Dhuska, kera-dudhauri, Jhalmudhi, Litti Chokha, Pittha, etc. Dhuska is a well-known dish of Jharkhand cooked with pulped pulses and rice and served with either mutton curry or aaloo dum. kera-dudhauri is a popular dish which is cooked with rice, gur, ghee and milk. In various regions of Jharkhand comprising Panch Pargana area (Sonahatu, Angara, Bundu, Rahe, Silli, Arki and Tamar Blocks of Khunti & Ranchi regions) a unique dish Charpa is prepared by boiling squashed rice combined with spicy vegetable preparations thus the name follows viz. Egg Charpa, Sembi Charpa, and some more depending on the constituent vegetable source. Local alcoholic drinks comprise rice beer, initially known as Handia or Diyeng, named following the vessel (earthen pot) used to make it. Handiya is ethnically related with inhabitant i.e. Sadan and Tribals, as this drink is drinked by both women as well as men, on social events like wedding and other carnivals. Other common liquor is known as Mahu, prepared from flowers/fruit of the Mahua tree.

HILLS & MOUNTAIN RANGES OF JHARKHAND

  • Trikut Hill
    Trikut mount is situated about 12 kms far away from Deoghar and is situated in Jharkhand enroute Dumka. Trikut hill is also known as Trikutchal because there are 3 main summits on the mount. The elevation of Trikut mount is around 2480 feet.

  • Ranchi Hill
    Ranchi mount is one of the ideal tourist spot in Ranchi, Jharkhand. At the top of Ranchi Hills, there is a sacred place devoted to Lord Shiva. Ranchi hill attracts tourists to have an amazing view of the site. At the base of the mount of Ranchi there is a lake named Ranchi Lake.

  • Tagore Hill
    Tagore mount is also known as the Morabadi mount. The Tagore mount is situated in Morabadi, Ranchi. The Tagore mount rises like a protector on the summit of a mount. 

  • Parasnath Mount
    Parasnath mount is also known as Sri Sammed Sikharji. The Parasnath mount is located in Giridih region of Jharkhand. It is a major sacred place of Jains and the sacred site for Jains. It is assumed in the Jain culture that 20 of the 24 Tirthankaras get Moksha from this site. The elevation of the mount is around 1,345 meters.

  • Canary Mount
    Canary Mount is enclosed by stunning recreational areas and is studded with 3 small ponds. Canary mount has a scrutiny tower. From the summit of the mounts, a panoramic view of the city can be viewed. The best place to drench in the natural magnificence of Hazari bagh is from the Canary Hill which pays off for the stunning vision of the thick flora in its ambiance.

  • Nandan Hill
    Nandan Mount is a tiny hill connecting the city which has a famous Nandi Shrine. The Nandi mount has been intensely preserved by the local government. It tells a lot about the beauty of the place. The Nandan mount is situated in facade of the famous Shiv shrine. It is also enclosed by stunning lake attracting the tourists.

  • Fuldungri
    Fuldungri is located on a tiny mount close to Ghatshila town. Fuldungris summit offers an amazing view of the undulating vales and mounts. Burudih Lake is situated about 16 kms North of Fuldungri. It is also a prominent tourist attraction.
